As far as that scene not being “impactful,” I never felt Kevan was a major character in the books, either. Ollie killing Jon? I’m expecting maybe silence for the stabbing and a very toned-down, sad version of the Wall theme or the Winterfell theme for his “death.” It sounds like a popular theme they’ve used for KL stuff before, so I think this would be a great choice for Varys/Kevan. I certainly hope it will be included in the show, however, because it sounds amazing. If we get the full soundtrack next week and that song is only around 1:30 in length, that’s probably what it is. Given that “Throne for the Game” is the last track on the album and contains strong elements of the main theme, I’m wondering if it could end up being similar to “For the Realm” from Season 3 – a piece that’s included on the soundtrack but doesn’t actually feature within the narrative confines of the show itself. I was hoping the soundtrack would include a complete version of “The Dornishman’s Wife” as sung by Jerome Flynn. A few are obvious, but there are still a couple that are a complete mystery to me.
If they have already been used and anyone recognizes them, please speak up! Regardless, I’m looking forward to hearing full versions of them and seeing how exactly they fit into the show.
I believe the tracks that we have yet to hear this season are “Jaws of the Viper”, “Mother’s Mercy”, “Dance of Dragons”, “Atonement”, “The Wars to Come”, “Forgive Me”, and “Throne for the Game”. But every track on this album sounds great! Ramin Djawdi can do no wrong. “Hardhome, Part 1″, “Hardhome, Part 2″, “Kneel for No Man”, and “Before the Old Gods” are standouts for me as well. I’ve adored that track ever since I first heard it at the end of Episode 2.
